Chiellini To Join MLS Side Los Angeles FC

Departing Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini will join Major League Soccer outfit Los Angeles FC, according to reports in Italy.

The 37-year-old is vacating after 17 years with Juventus and, after his final home match, implied he is likely to leave Europe.

Chiellini has won nine Serie A titles with Juve as well as the Coppa Italia on five events. He also attained the Champions League final twice.

He has made 560 appearances for the Bianconeri, which places him third behind Alessandro Del Piero and Gianluigi Buffon in the list of players to have played the most games for the club.

Chiellini missed much of the 2019-20 campaign following a serious knee injury.

At the international level, he has 116 caps for Italy and is likely to play his last match for his country in the Maradona Super Cup against Argentina at Wembley on June 1. Chiellini was captain when Italy won Euro 2020.

The defender will hope to enjoy the same accomplishment in the USA as acquaintance and former Juve team-mate Sebastian Giovinco who helped Toronto FC win the MLS final in 2017.
