Barcelona 'On The Brink Of Economic Collapse',

Barcelona are on the verge of having an economic collapse as their financial situation lies in a grim state, claims Ser Catalunya journalist Siqui Rodriguez.

The Blaugrana have until June 30 to get the upward of €500m of income revenue. Only then can they meet the €765m projected budget that has to be met to balance their financial books for this season.

If unable to do so, they will again be hit by La Liga's salary cap rules. Barca's salary cap currently is over -€140m because they've made more losses than revenue in recent years.

Things are so bad that right now, the club will not even be able to give a contract renewal to Sergi Roberto – despite agreeing on one.

Moreover, Barca won’t be able to register any new players or make any signings unless able to generate more revenue.

The board will hold a meeting on Tuesday in which they will approve the ‘economic levers’ proposed by Joan Laporta.

Barca realizes they need to sell some players and trim their wage bill to open up space for new arrivals as well as renew existing player contracts.
