5 La Masia Gems Who Could Break Into The First Team Next Season
With Ferran Jutgla leaving the club, there are still plenty of those academy gems who could make the senior squad in 2022/23.
1. Pablo Torre
The 19-year-old will join Barca B in July but the pre-season could guarantee the midfielder a first-team spot.
Barcelona's new signing was crucial to Racing Santander's promotion to the second division, having scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists this season. Without a doubt, he deserves a chance to impress.
2. Fabio Blanco
Another right-winger who could benefit from several players' exits.
The 18-year-old joined Barcelona B only in January but has been consistently solid since then, bagging 4 goals in 13 games for Sergi Barjuan's side.
3. Antonio Aranda
The 21-year-old is a regular starter under Sergi Barjuan, recording 9 goal contributions in 27 games this term.
Aranda has recently impressed for Xavi's side against the A-League team, perfectly setting Ansu Fati up for a goal. This may be his jumping-off point.
4. Jandro Orellana
The defensive midfielder was given some game time in Barca's latest friendly. He looked quite comfortable on the ball but it's still not clear if he's ready to provide competition for places in the first team.
Xavi reportedly likes Orellana a lot and we may expect him to call the 21-year-old up for pre-season friendlies.
5. Alvaro Sanz
The midfielder has already made a few senior appearances for the Catalans and looked decent in most of them.
He plays in the same position as Orellana but is seemingly trusted even more by the coaching staff.
