Maradona's 'Hand of God' shirt receives bid of £4,000,000
Diego Maradona's 'Hand of God' shirt has been put up for sale at a Sotheby's auction house in London.
The jersey has received a bid of £4,000,000, more than 25 times the record of £157,750 set by Pele's 1970 World Cup final shirt in 2002.
Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's head of streetwear and modern collectibles, said: "I'll never get to handle anything this good again. The moment is iconic in the history of sports."
The iconic shirt was worn by Maradona during the Argentina vs England clash in 1986. For 35 year, it was in possession of midfielder Steve Hodge who swapped jerseys with Maradona.
