Klopp provides update on Firmino's fitness ahead of Merseyside derby
Ferran Torres is not having a bad start to life at Barcelona by any means.
Regardless of some of the criticism he's received from Cules lately, the Spanish striker has been Barca's best signing this season.
Here's why:
Goal contribution
Ferran has contributed 13 goals (7 goals, 6 assists) since signing for Barca in January.
With his tally, Ferran is Barcelona's top goal contributor this season. No La Liga player signed in January has contributed more goals.
You get the feeling that Ferran has a lot more to offer Barca going forward.
Age
Torres is still a 22-year-old striker. He still has a lot of room to grow.
Take a look at the strikers Barca signed between the two transfer windows this season, Ferran remains the youngest. Both Aubameyang and Luuk de Jong are on the other side of 30. Let's not even mention Dani Alves.
It can thus be said that Ferran is the signing with the most promising future among all Barca's signings this season.
Injury-free
Torres has hardly suffered any discomfort since joining Barca.
We know he spent 3 months on the sidelines before signing for the Blaugrana after suffering a foot fracture while at Manchester City.
However, his solid fitness condition makes it difficult for Xavi to bench him. He's just brimming with energy.
Fits like a glove
Among the new signings Ferran Torres is the player who seems to sync perfectly with Xavi's intense pressing system at Barca.
From his style, we can see he likes to run with the ball. He makes 0.8 tackles per game, showing he's not lazy. Upfront, he scores from every 3.4 of his shots on target and makes 0.7 key passes per game.
Ferran Torres looks like a guy who could really be something for Barca with time.
