Jurgen Klopp reacts to James Milner's display vs Newcastle

"Outstanding. Milly is Milly. He's incredibly important for us," Jurgen Klopp said after Liverpool's win over Newcastle about James Milner.

"His leadership is helpful, especially when his manager isn't a native speaker! But on the pitch he played a super game.

“He was involved in absolutely everything. When Milly is on the pitch he is responsible for giving the whole group energy as well, which is not easy.

"On top of that he is a top footballer. He played a great game. Like a lot of players today and it was necessary.

"Everything we've achieved wouldn't be possible without James Milner," Klopp added while pointing out that the club is not aware yet whether the 36-year-old will stay at the club beyond this season.

In a rare start against Newcastle, Milner was outstanding, winning almost every duel in his time on the pitch. The veteran was even branded the Man of the Match by the broadcasters BT Sport.
