Harry Maguire: 'I wouldn't be playing for Man United if I was bad in every game

Before Man United’s 0-4 loss to Liverpool, Harry Maguire gave an interview to Sky Sports where he was asked about how he started every game for the Red Devils despite performing poorly this season.

He said: “I wouldn't be playing every game for Manchester United in the starting eleven if I'd been playing bad every game.

“There's a reason why both managers this season have put me in the starting eleven every game.”

After these comments, Maguire went onto produce a shambolic performance in the 0-4 loss to Liverpool.

He failed to maintain a strong enough backline and was caught napping for multiple goals, seeing his side fall to an embarrassing defeat.
