Bale set to leave Real Madrid for D.C United at the end of 2021/22 season
DC United are being linked with Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale.
Bale is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the 2021/22 season, when his contract runs out, so he is starting to look for a new club. The Welshman may have found one in Major League Soccer, with DC United interested.
Their interest is serious enough that the American team is already in talks with Bale's representatives.
The Washington Post's Steven Goff reports the two parties spoke months ago and are now exchanging proposals.
If Bale were to move to DC United, he'd earn more than Wayne Rooney did when he joined the team in 2018. With Rooney having scored 23 goals in 48 appearances, DC United are happy with how that experience with an older European player went and they'd be keen to repeat it.
