Trent Alexander-Arnold just 5 assists away from beating Dani Alves' remarkable record

Trent Alexander-Arnold already has 17 assists to his name this season (11 in the Premier League, three in the Champions League, two in the Carabao Cup and one in the FA Cup).

It is already the best tally in his career - previously, he 'only' registered 15 assists on two occasions.

There is, however, quite a high bar for Trent to reach. In the 2010-2011 season, Barcelona right-back Dani Alves registered 21 assists, including 15 assists in the league.

The Brazilian's number remains the highest ever figure reached by a defender in a single season.

It means that Trent will need to provide just five assists in the remainder of the season to beat this result.

He'll have at least 11 games in the Premier League, as well as the next rounds of the Champions League and the FA Cup to reach that goal.
