Ten Hag 'stunned' by Man United's inability to offer him contract after interview
Erik ten Hag has been baffled by how Man United have failed to produce a contract offer for him since interviewing him on Monday, 21 March, claims the Mirror.
This is despite the Dutchman informing the hierarchy that money won’t be an issue in the deal and he doesn’t want a lucrative contract.
Ten Hag impressed United’s higher-ups that he is more focused on rebuilding the team than looking out for his own financial interest.
But even after laying out his ambitious future plans, the Ajax boss was stunned that the Red Devils didn’t even want to open contract talks.
The Dutchman comes from a wealthy background and has a big stake in his family business, which is why he isn’t after a lot of money.
The reason why the Red Devils didn’t offer him a contract is because they want to speak with other candidates, including Mauricio Pochettino, before making the final decision on their next manager.
But Ten Hag is growing impatient with United’s inability to produce an offer for him and with multiple European giants eager to speak to him about his services, he could decide to join some other club if made to wait too long.
