Ralf Rangnick shares update on Man United manager search

"We have had one or two meetings with the head of scouting," explained Ralf Rangnick in his pre-match press conference when asked about Manchester United's search for a permanent manager.

"I will not speak too much about that in detail. We have not spoken about the new manager too much."

Rangnick was then asked how the club plans to identify players to target in the summer without knowing who the manager will be.

The interim boss added: "Again, I will tell you that we haven't spoken about that. I am the wrong person to address the question.

"I am here to focus on the team. We can speak about it, but we have not had the time or opportunity yet.

"I am here until the end of the season and it is important to develop the players and develop the team.

"I am always there and will tell people my opinion, but as of yet it has not happened. But that could change in the coming weeks or months."

Unless United speed up the process of finalising the next manager, there is honestly little hope over signing the right players in the summer.

Every manager has their own style and it's important to have the right set of players to get the best results.

As of now, Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are the two potential options to replace Rangnick at the end of the season.
