Mohamed Salah's contract talks with Liverpool break down over salary demands
Liverpool's contract talks with Mohamed Salah have broken down, Fabrizio Romano writes in his report for The Guardian.
The Egyptian has no intention to sign the deal on the terms offered by the club.
From their side, Liverpool believe their latest offer was fair. As a result, no talks between the club and the player have been held since December.
On Friday, Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa posted seven laughing emojis on Twitter in an apparent response to Jurgen Klopp's remarks on the situation at a press conference.
"I think Mo definitely expects this club to be ambitious and we are," Klopp said. "It’s Mo’s decision. The club did what it can do. It is all fine. All fine from my point of view. Nothing has happened further, no signing, no rejection, we just have to wait. Completely fine, no rush."
Salah's deal expires in 2023 which means that Liverpool might have to sell him this summer if they don't want to lose him for free - unless they are ready to improve the offer to the player who has scored 152 goals for the Reds since arriving there in 2017.
