A member of the Saudi consortium, Khalid Al Khudair posted a message on social media conceding defeat in the race to buy Chelsea, while also confirming they would 'definitely' be open to joining another consortium.

On being asked which consortium they'd be willing to join with Khalid replied: "The one that respects its fans and continues the legacy of the club."
He also confirmed that there could be a possibility of getting in with a sponsorship deal with the new owner saying, "I'm sure that can happen."
