Man United Women beat Everton 3-1 to win historic Old Trafford clash
It was a match to remember for our women's team as they came back from behind to beat Everton 3-1 at Old Trafford - their first Women's Super League game in the iconic stadium in front of fans.
Alessia Russo made all the difference with a lovely brace to inspire Manchester United Women into bagging a much-needed win.
The result means third-placed United are now three points clear of Manchester City, keeping their Champions League hopes alive.
Captain Katie Zelem also netted from a penalty in the 54th minute to give us the lead while Russo finished in style to score our third goal.
A record 20,241 people were in attendance at Old Trafford to cheer our women in what was their second game at the Theatre of Dreams (first one with fans).
