Ex-Palace owner Simon Jordan: 'Roman Abramovich was one of the worst things to happen to English football'
Speaking on talkSPORT radio, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan said: "With due respect, with the exception of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich was one of the worst things to happen to English football.
"We were on a direction of travel that was already upwards, our Premier League was already flying. What you did was create hyperinflation. You might've stopped the powerhouses that were Manchester United and Arsenal for a period of time.
"But that was going to happen anyway. You changed the landscape by making football so financially unviable for your own reasons. Abramovich's legacy is what? For Chelsea, fabulous. For football in this country, I think it's awful."
Abramovich purchased in 2003, immediately investing million of pounds into the Premier League side and turning them into a powerhouse.
The Russian billionaire has announced his decision to sell the London club following the start of the Russia–Ukraine conflict on February.

😤 “Hyperinflation’s destroyed football… good riddance, bye bye, next.”
