Chelsea call for Middlesbrough game to be played behind closed doors because they can't sell tickets to fans
Chelsea want tomorrow's FA Cup quarter-final game away at Middlesbrough to be played behind closed doors.
The Blues are not allowed to sell tickets to their fans after being hit by massive sanctions from the United Kingdom government.
Therefore, Chelsea have called on the English Football Association to ban the home supporters from attending the match in the interest of 'sporting integrity'.
Middlesbrough said: "We find Chelsea's suggestion both bizarre and without any merit whatsoever. To suggest that fans should be penalised is not only grossly unfair but without any foundation."
