Certain people at Barca against extending Dani Alves contract

There are a few people within the club who are opposed to the idea of offering Dani Alves an extension, the reputable Adria Albets reports.

The reasons are not specified, but the two most obvious ones would be Dani's age and the fact that Barcelona might be overstocked with right-backs next season.

The Catalans are close to signing Nouassir Mazraoui and are also following pending free agent Cesar Azpilucueta. Besides, they also have Sergino Dest and Oscar Mingueza in the squad.

However, it should be mentioned that Barca tried to offload both Dest and Mingueza last summer.

Meanwhile, Dani Alves is showing no signs of slowing down despite being 38 years old. This season so far, the Brazilian has contributed with a goal and three assists in eight matches for Blaugrana.
