Barca's top 5 underrated players of the season so far
We've recently come up with a list of those players who have returned to their best under Xavi.
Let's now talk about those who we probably don't speak about enough this season.
5. Memphis Depay
Believe it or not, the Dutchman remains Barcelona's top goalscorer this season.
5 of Memphis' nine goals this term were match winners, so we may say he singlehandedly won us 15 points in La Liga.
Memphis had some serious finishing problems under Ronald Koeman but his attacking output was always immense.
4. Sergino Dest
The American is also improving under Xavi – both offensively and defensively.
Dest had to replace Dani Alves and Jordi Alba in the past few games, and he did that perfectly, showing how versatile he can be if needed.
3. Ousmane Dembele
As promised by Xavi, Dembele 'has turned whistles into applause' and made people believe he could still be a priceless asset for the team.
The Frenchman is making difference again with his great goals and, what's more important, quality playmaking.
2. Luuk de Jong
The one who was heavily criticised at the beginning of the season can't stop delivering in 2022!
The 31-year-old averages a goal every 67 minutes this year – and some fans already want Barca to sign him on a permanent deal. How things change.
1. Gerard Pique
The Barca veteran was quite error-prone under Koeman this season but has massively improved under Xavi.
Numbers show he even beats Ruben Dias in most defensive stats this term – except for the number of tackles per 90 minutes.
