Abramovich in talks with consortium over Chelsea sale, hope for weekend breakthrough
According to Blick's economics reporter Nicola Imfield, the American-Swiss consortium is in talks with Roman Abramovich over Chelsea.
The consortium is led by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss and American tycoon Todd Boehly who has shares in the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
As per the source, they have found new partners which makes a deal more likely.
Abramovich wants to sell Chelsea quickly, so the potential buyers are confident a breakthrough can happen this weekend. The deal could be announced as early as Monday.
The Russian businessman has confirmed his decision to sell the club he has owned for almost two decades. He is under threat of UK sanctions due to his alleged close ties with Vladimir Putin.
