Ukrainian football championship suspended after Russian invasion
Ukrainian Premier League and the lower football leagues across the country have been suspended in the aftermath of the Russian invasion.
A short message on the FA's website reads: "Due to the imposition of martial law in Ukraine, the [football ]championship of Ukraine has been suspended."
Russian ground, air and naval forces launched a massive attack on its neighbour in the early hours on Thursday following months of escalations on the eastern border.
UEFA's decision to move the 2021/22 Champions League final from Saint Petersburg is all but official and Schalke 04 have already removed the Gazprom logo from their shirts.
