Robert Lewandowski finally breaks silence on Leo Messi's controversial FIFA Best vote
The 2021 FIFA Best award sparked controversy when it was revealed that Lionel Messi did not vote Robert Lewandowski.
During the 2021 Ballon d'Or ceremony in Zurich, the Argentine claimed the the Bayern Munich striker deserved to win the 2020 edition.
However, leading to the FIFA award a few weeks later, the Paris Saint-Germain forward voted for Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema.
Speaking to Pilka Nozna, Lewandowski said: "It is difficult for me to relate to it. I voted for Messi because I appreciate what he did in 2021.
"And, of course, earlier. Messi voted for me in the Ballon d'Or, and I don't know why his point of view changed later.
"However, I have no regrets, no complaints, I accepted it, he made his decision and that's it."
