Reece James 'expected' to return to the pitch this week

According to the Daily Mail, Reece James is expected to make his return to the pitch this week.

The right-back has been absent for seven weeks after picking up a hamstring injury.

The previous recovery target was the Crystal Palace game on Saturday. However, Thomas Tuchel decided against rushing him into action.

In a press conference ahead of the game, Tuchel confirmed that he hoped to have James available for training next week. Judging by the latest report, the 22-year-old is on course to do so.

In the next seven days, Chelsea are facing Lille in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie, as well as Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
