ManCity Put 4 Past Norwich City To Maintain Dominance At The Summit

Manchester City continued their dominance over the norfollk side as the Citizens has won both of the previous two head-to-heads 5-0.

All though the margin of victory was not quite as big on this occasion, Pep Guardiola’s side still cast the 'Canaries' aside with the same degree of ease.

The opener of the game did come through Sterling, who ruthlessly punished Max Aarons for not clearing away Kyle Walker’s cross with a superb curling finish past Gunn in the 31st minute - his first goal of the calendar year.

The first half didn’t progress without a scare for Guardiola’s men though, with Grant Hanley unlucky to see his cracking header from Pierre Lees-Melou’s cross cannon off the post.

It took just three minutes into the second half for City to double their lead, and it was Foden that fired home at the second attempt from İlkay Gündoğan’s cross, despite Hanley’s best efforts to prevent the ball crossing the line.

Chances were few and far between for a Norwich side bewildered by the pace of play from their star-studded opponents, but Ederson was called into action to keep out Milot Rashica’s effort at his near post.

Any dwindling hopes of an unlikely Norwich comeback were extinguished when Foden played a superb ball into the box, which Rúben Dias headed on towards Sterling to nod home a third goal in the 70th minute.

There was still time for Sterling to complete his hat-trick after Hanley was penalised for a challenge on Liam Delap, and he fired home on the rebound after Gunn saved his initial spot-kick in stoppage time.
