How much Liverpool earned by winning Carabao Cup

Liverpool lifted the Carabao Cup last night after beating Chelsea in a penalty shoot-out. The game was goalless after 120 minutes.

Kepa was the fall guy for Chelsea after coming on for the shoot-out, not saving a single penalty and missing the deciding spot-kick.

The win meant Liverpool's first trophy of the season and a total prize sum of £100,000.

It is a relatively small amount compared to the lucrative winnings of the Premier League and Champions League trophies but still holds value as being one of the most prestigious competitions in football.

The win also made Liverpool the record-holders of the competition winning it for a 9th time.

It will give the Reds some wind in their sails to push on for the title-race after lifting the cup.
