Former Man City defender makes miracle return to football after fireworks exploded in his face and left him clinically blind
Former Manchester City defender and Hull City right-back Omar Elabdellaoui has made a remarkable return to professional football.
The Norway international was declared clinically blind when a firework exploded in his face during a New Year's Eve celebration in 2020.
It took the defender 11 surgeries — including an ocular stem cell transplant from his sister — to be able to play the game again.
Elabdellaoui played a full 90 minutes for Galatasaray as the Turkish side secured their first win of the year against Goztepe in the Super Lig.
I have really missed this feeling!!!
