Chelsea want to start negotiations with Mount over new contract: Romano

Mason Mount has been one of Chelsea's best players since he broke into the first team under Frank Lampard back in 2019.

The midfielder's current deal expires at the end of the 2023-24 season and as per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea want to start negotiations with him over a new deal.

The discussions have not started yet but the club want to negotiate this year to avoid any problems, Romano details.

This would be a smart move as Chelsea are currently dealing with the situations of Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen - all of their contracts end this summer.

Mount is Chelsea through and through and is only going to get better, so it makes perfect sense to extend his deal as soon as possible.
