Chelsea loaned striker Broja suffers knee injury in FA Cup, could be out for some time
Southampton needed extra time to beat Coventry City 2-1 last night. However, it was a bittersweet result for the Saints as in the game, striker Armando Broja went down with a knee injury.
Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed that the Chelsea loanee could face spell on the sidelines after being forced off the field in their win.
“Broja was fouled in the middle and had a bad hit on the top of the knee, we must have a look at how serious it is,” Hasenhutll told HampshireLIve after the game.
“In the end, hopefully, they [Lyanco and Broja’s injuries] are not too serious. The hit on the knee… we will have to wait and see.”
Broja has seven goals for Southampton across all competitions and the 20-year-old is playing some excellent football there. Reporter Tom Leach added that the injury is ‘not looking good but needs to be assessed’.
Hopefully, Broja is all fine and doesn't have to miss too much time. We will have to wait for further updates to understand how long his absence can be.
