Barca 'basically agree' Azpilicueta deal, make Christensen offer

Catalan-based Diario Sport report that Barcelona are closing on signing Chelsea defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen.

Xavi's side will try to get both players signed on pre-contract agreements soon. Azpi and Andreas have contracts expiring at the end of the season and Chelsea run a huge risk of losing them on free transfer.

The source claims that Azpilicueta's three-year contract with Barca is 'basically agreed'.

Fortunately for the Blues, Christiansen is not that close to moving to Camp Nou yet. He has several offers on the table, including one from Barca, and will take some time before making a final decision.

But Sport claim that he would prefer a move to Barca to other options.

Diario Sport are normally a reliable source when it comes to Barcelona transfers. They have a proven track record of getting their reports things right when it comes to Catalans.

But note that just a few days ago, The Athletic, a credible source as well, reported that Chelsea are optimistic about keeping Christensen and Azpilicueta at the club.

So no panic for now.
