'We prepared for a game like that': Ancelotti reacts to Alcoyano triumph

"We played a different game tonight, for various reasons. We fought and played the game we wanted to," Carlo Ancelotti said after the Alcoyano game.

"We didn't lose our heads after their goal, we knew what we had to do. We prepared the game like that.

"The players with more quality suffered more tonight. Hazard tried... all the team did well but as I said, the players with more quality suffered tonight.

"We prepared the game like that. We couldn't play from the back tonight for various reasons. We did what we had to."

Real Madrid are through to the Round of 16 after beating the third-tier side Alcoyano 3-1.

It was a scrappy win as Alcoyano were the better side in the first half and could have been 2-1 up.
