Tuchel: 'Lukaku has apologized and is back in the squad, he is our number 9'

"First of all, we are happy that we took the time to look calmly on it, this is what we did," Tuchel said regarding Lukaku during his press conference ahead of the Tottenham game.

"He apologized and is back in the squad for training today. The most important thing was to understand and believe it was not intentional.

"Was the intention to create trouble? To leave the club? I don't know, put pressure on the coach? No.

"Of course, he should have known better but that is why we have cleared the air together. He's our number nine and I cannot say any more."

It seems that the Romelu Lukaku saga has finally drawn to a close and that Thomas Tuchel and his side can get back to focusing solely on football.

Whether the striker will apologize to the fans as well remains to be seen, but it seems that the team at least, has put it behind them.
