No Regrets Over Digne Exit: Benitez
Toffees manager Rafa Benitez has stated that there is no regrets letting French fullback Luca Digne go.
Benitez stressed by saying selling Digne has allowed the Club to balance both his squad and the financial books at Goodison Park.
The left-back, who joined Aston Villa in a deal rising to £25m, took what appeared to be a parting shot at Benitez when he posted on social media: "Sometimes it only takes one person from outside to destroy a beautiful love affair."
Speaking for the first time on Digne's departure, Benitez said: "I am the manager and I take the responsibilities of my decisions.
"If you're in a boat and someone is not rowing with the strength that you are expecting then you have to make your decision.
"We brought in a couple of good young players, hungry players. I'm sure they will be good now and better in the future."
