Man United to 'prioritise' new deal for Marcus Rashford despite his dip in form
Manchester United are all set to offer Marcus Rashford a bumper new contract over the summer and view it as a 'priority', reports ESPN.
Rashford's current deal expires in 2023 but the club hold an option to extend his stay by another year.
The 24-year-old has been a major talking point among fans particularly for his poor attitude and alarming dip in form this season. In the 1-0 win over Aston Villa most recently, fans were shocked to see Rashford struggle once again.
He's found the back of the net only twice in the Premier League in 2021/22 so far, which is not what we've come to expect from him.
ESPN adds that the prospect of potentially losing Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard - both former Academy players - for free this summer has made the Red Devils wary about Rashford running down his contract and following the same route.
Marcus underwent shoulder surgery last year and it could be argued that he's yet to recover fully. However, the report adds that the coaching staff is eager to help Rashy regain his form.
