Gary Neville: 'I've never seen anything like Manchester City in England'

Speaking to Sky Sports, Gary Neville said: "When I think back to a month ago and we were talking about a three-horse race in the Premier League, now it's certainly not as in the forefront of my mind.

"I look at Manchester City and they're a unique team, I've never seen anything like them in this country. The way they play football and dominate the game. Against Arsenal they weren't at their best but they won.

"I have to say, in this last four weeks, they have been outstanding. Man City have had players missing over the last two or three years and they've had to cope with it. But they have a strong squad, they have a great manager.

"They have a unique way of playing, they demoralise you when you play football. It will be very difficult to make up for those three games that they're in front, very difficult because they don't make a lot of mistakes."

Neville's praise should be taken seriously because the former full-back was part of — and played against — some of the greatest signs in the history of the English top flight.

Man City are currently top of the Premier League table after picking up 53 points from 21 games, 10 points above second-placed Chelsea.
