Varane Reveals Why He Chise United Over Madrid Stay
Manchester United Defender Rafael Varane has revealed that he chose to move to the English Club because of the challenge.
The French man further added :I am up for the challenge to rebuild Manchester United.
Varane left Real Madrid this summer for United.
He told the Telegraph: "It's a big challenge. It's a challenge that motivates me.
"I won it all [in Madrid], so maybe I was looking for a different feeling. Defend history. You have to fight for something bigger than yourself.
You have to fight for the club, the fans and this story. Its very important.
From the outside you can see how the club respects legends, respects history. Now I can feel it inside and know the feeling of being a Manchester United player.
"Everyone respects everyone and I feel the warmth. I feel that everyone here is equal, there are no differences."
Varane also spoke of the United fans, continuing: "A really good example was the atmosphere at Old Trafford when we were losing 2-0 and won the game 3-2 [against Atalanta].
The stadium pushed the team. In all countries it is very different if you're losing 2-0 at home, the atmosphere would be very different.
That's one of the reasons I came here, because of the different atmosphere, the different feeling in the stadiums.
Manchester United is special (for that) and in England it's different compared to other countries in Europe."
