Taribo West Cited In Caleb Okoli’s Link With AC Milan

Former Super Eagles’ defender, Taribo West has been cited in reports linking Cremonese of Italy centre back, Caleb Okoli with a move to AC Milan, megasportsarena.com reports.

Okoli has been in tremendous form since arriving at the Italian lower division, Serie B side from Atalanta in the summer.

Although many analysts argued at that time that it was a demotion for Okoli, considering that Atalanta are in the top-flight Italian Serie A, the loan deal is turning into a huge breakthrough for him.

This is because a report by Italian publication, Calciomercato has revealed that two ex-players, Paolo Maldini and Federico Massara, who are now both technical buffs at Milan, have suggested a move for Okoli next month.

Should the deal pull through, Okoli will not only revive memories of Taribo at The San Siro, he will also go on to star alongside fellow-Nigerian-born stopper, Fikayo Tomori in The Rosonori’s defence.

However, it is not a straightforward swoop, as Milan’s buffs have Okoli named in a choice list that also has to Bremer of Torino, Benoit Badiakhile of AS Monaco and Facundo Medina of RC Lens.

Okoli will now aim to be picked ahead of the other three centre backs, as Milan seek a stop-gap replacement for Simon Kjaer, who was injured during last weekend’s 3-0 win over Genoa. December 03, 2021 at 03:21PM
