Premier League clubs to discuss postponing festive fixtures amid Covid-19 outbreak
As reported by The Athletic, the Premier League will conduct a meeting this Monday (December 20) to discuss plans for the road ahead as clubs grapple with a Covid-19 crisis.
Several players across teams have tested positive as the Omicron variant makes its presence felt in the United Kingdom.
The report further claims that Gameweek 20 — meaning fixtures on December 28-30 — is most likely to be postponed.
On Saturday, five out of the six scheduled games were postponed while Chelsea's request to call off the Wolves clash on Sunday was rejected.
The league needs to provide clear rules and regulations as Covid-19 refuses to go away.
