Premier League clubs 'could dock' unvaccinated players' wages for missing games due to Covid-19
Premier League clubs are considering whether to slash the wages of unvaccinated players who miss training sessions or games due to Covid-19.
If a player who has not been jabbed is forced to self-isolate due to contracting Covid-19 or being in close contact with a positive case, they could have their weekly wages docked for the absence period.
PL clubs are taking this idea from Bayern Munich, who have implemented the rule of not paying unvaccinated players when they miss games because of Covid-19.
Many players in different PL clubs are worried by their teammates’ unwillingness to get vaccinated, believing it puts them at risk.
It’s claimed that one high-profile player at a top PL club was forced to self-isolate 4 times this season because of his unwillingness to get the vaccine.
The Premier League are also ramping up to daily Covid-19 testing for players and staff after 42 positive cases were found last week.
