Mino Raiola calls on FIFA to abolish transfer fees
Mino Raiola has slammed FIFA's proposal to cut the amount of money football clubs should be able to spend on agents' fees. Instead, the controversial agent suggested something completely different.
Speaking to Studio Voetbal, Raiola said: "An agent must earn as much as possible for the player. What will be higher with this plan? The transfer fee or the salary?
"In fact, FIFA is saying that they do not go against the transfer fees, but against the salaries. The negotiating position of the players is thus compromised.
"Abolish the transfer fee. Then we will only talk about salaries. The whole system is wrong. It was invented by people who have no knowledge of the profession."
Raiola has a reputation of looking out for himself when it comes to dealing with clubs, reportedly earning a whopping £41 million on Paul Pogba's transfer to Manchester United in the summer of 2016.
The 54-year-old could be set for a massive windfall next summer should Erling Haaland leave Borussia Dortmund. According to The Sun, Raiola is demanding £47 million in commission for the Norwegian's transfer.
