Lacazette Next In Line For Captaincy
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that French forward Alexandre Lacazette is the next in line for the captaincy at the club.
The Gunners have stripped Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of the captaincy due to a disciplinary matter.
Lacazette captained the side as they defeated West Ham United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Asked about Lacazette as a leader, Arteta said: "It's in his nature.
He's not a selfish player. He's a player that's happy when they make the team better."
He added on the captaincy: "Well he's the next in line and he's taken it the way everybody played today with such pride and commitment.
I'm really proud of it."
