Haaland, Werner and 7 more strikers on Barca's wish list: transfer round-up
Based on what we've seen in the last few days, Barcelona seriously consider signing at least one striker in 2022.
We've come up with a fresh transfer round-up – but only about the targeted centre-forwards (note: Ferran Torres isn't making the list as he's more of a right winger).
Erling Haaland
As a European top club, Barcelona technically remain in the race for the superstar Norwegian.
However, the Catalans are unlikely to afford the striker any time until the summer of 2023, with Mino Raiola hinting that the 21-year-old will leave Borussia Dortmund already next summer.
When Barca could sign him: summer 2022 or summer 2023.
For how much? €75m-€150m.
Probability rating: 2/10.
Timo Werner
Barca are actively monitoring the German's situation at Chelsea.
However, even a half-a-season loan move could cost Blaugrana too much; besides, he still seems to be an important player for Thomas Tuchel.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022.
For how much? This would be a loan move.
Probability rating: 2/10.
Karim Adeyemi
The German was seen as a reasonable alternative to Haaland, but it seems that Adeyemi prefers succeeding the Norwegian at Borussia Dortmund.
According to German outlets, the 19-year-old's Bundesliga move is all but confirmed, so we shouldn't expect him to join Barca.
When Barca could sign him: summer 2022.
For how much? €40m-€50m.
Probability rating: 3/10.
Edinson Cavani
The Manchester United striker is reportedly seen among the best possible options to reinforce the attack as soon as possible.
With Cavani's contract nearing the end, Barca will get him for peanuts in January if the Red Devils agree to sell him.
The player himself is said to be strongly in favour of the move.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022 or summer 2022.
For how much? €5m-€10m/for free.
Probability rating: 7/10.
Anthony Martial
The Frenchman doesn't receive much game time at Old Trafford and considers leaving the club soon.
For Barca, signing Martial is plan B as he's not considered a priority signing.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022 or summer 2022.
For how much: €15m-€40m/for free.
Probability rating: 4/10.
Cedric Bakambu
The player's active contract with Chinese side Beijing Guoan expires already in January.
The former Villarreal star is said to be liked by the Barcelona board, but there have been few rumours about him in the past weeks.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022.
For how much? For free.
Probability rating: 4/10.
Arthur Cabral
The Brazilian is considered a relatively cheap option for January.
However, Barca's interest has become colder in the past few weeks, it is said.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022.
For how much: €15m-€20m.
Probability rating: 3/10.
Julian Alvarez
The Argentine wonderkid is said to have a €25m release clause in his current deal with River Plate.
Barca are going to send their representatives to Argentina to negotiate the deal. However, the Catalans will have to face competition from plenty of different clubs, including even Real Madrid.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022 or summer 2022.
For how much? €25m.
Probability rating: 6/10.
Agustin Alvarez
Julian's namesake plays for Uruguayan side Penarol and is called 'the new Luis Suarez'.
The 20-year-old would cost Barca just €12m but the club would first send him to play for Barcelona B.
When Barca could sign him: January 2022 or summer 2022.
For how much? €12m.
Probability rating: 5/10.
