Gerrard believes he can take Aston Villa forward with the right additions.
Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has reaffirmed the need to buy in January.
Villa are flying under Gerrard, who has won four of his six games in charge at Villa Park since he swapped Rangers for the Premier League at the beginning of November.
Villa spent big in the summer, adding Leon Bailey, Emiliano Buendia and Danny Ings to the squad to try and mitigate the departure of Jack Grealish to Manchester City for £100 million.
In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, Gerrard has commented once more about how recruitment will be key to his plans for Villa and how he thinks he can take the club forward with the right additions.
"At the moment, we have seen enough in terms of what we have in the door that we can move it forward, and if we recruit right and get the right support to the current players, things can be exciting here for sure," Gerrard said.
