Financial reason why Barcelona have been benching Demir exposed by reporters

Yusuf Demir has been left on the bench in Barcelona's last 3 La Liga fixtures - that includes the most recent game against Osasuna.

According to Austrian outlet Kurier Sport, Barca are benching Demir because they do not want to pay the €10m purchase clause in his contract.

As per Barca's contract with Rapid Vienna, the Blaugrana are required to fully purchase Demir from the Austrian club if he makes 20 appearances this season.

So far Demir has made just 9 appearances for Barca in all competitions, starting just 3 games.
