Chelsea boss Tuchel concedes title race defeat to Man City
With a series of unimpressive performance in the field, Chelsea boss has admitted that is team are no longer in the race for Premier league title.
"How should we be in it? We have seven Covid cases," Thomas Tuchel told the press when asked if Chelsea are still in the title race after the 1-1 draw against Brighton.
"We have five or six players out for six or more weeks. How should we compete in a title race?
"Everyone else who has a full squad, everybody in training has the full power to come through this league.
"We would be stupid to think we can do it out of Covid and injuries and just play."
Chelsea are currently second in the league table, eight points adrift of Man City.
The Blues failed to beat Brighton as the Seagulls replied to Lukaku's first-half goal with Welbeck's late equaliser.
Liverpool are a point behind Chelsea and have a game in hand.
Man City sit top of the table, eight points ahead of Chelsea and nine points ahead of Liverpool.
