Amaechi: Arsenal Wasn’t The Right Place For Me
Bolton Wanderers of England youngster, Xavier Amaechi has cast a fresh look at his career progression and disclosed why he had to leave Arsenal in 2919.
Things have not been rosy for the 22-year-old Nigerian-born attacker since leaving Emirates Stadium, as his search for the golden fleece at SV Hamburg of Germany did not see fruition.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the soft-spoken lad, who joined Arsenal from theur fellow-London-based rivals, Fulham in August 2013, is now enduring his second loan spell outside Hamburg, with which he has played just five matches.
The first was last season at fellow-German side, Karlsruher SC, but another storm has hit him this term at Bolton, who now compete in the third-tier English League One.
His exertions have been limited to just six matches, after he suffered a metatarsal injury in July and was out till October, but remains a periphery player for The Trotters.
However, depite the blight that has hit his career since leaving Arsenal, Amaechi insists he took the right decision, as he never saw the opportunity of getting real football activity with The Gunners.
Amaechi told Manchester Evening News: “My sole purpose of going to Hamburg was to play football.
“At Arsenal I didn’t feel like it was the right place for me to break in and get those minutes.
“It isn’t about going somewhere that you will grow up. It is about going somewhere you can play.”
