Abramovich reportedly 'very interested' in Hazard - making sense of return rumours

Eden Hazard has not had the best time at Real Madrid as his career has gone downhill ever since his move away from Chelsea.

The winger has had as many injuries as goal contributions with the Los Blancos. Lately, rumours have been gathering steam over the Belgian international leaving Madrid in January.

Most recently, a latest report has linked him with a move back to Chelsea.

What's the rumour and is the source reliable?
Roman Abramovich is 'very interested' in signing Hazard again.

The Chelsea owner is reportedly still a fan of the player who had the best spell of his career with his club.

This comes after reports that Real Madrid would be willing to sell Hazard for a mere fee of £21 million.

However, no price has been mentioned in this new report.

The report comes from Superdeporte. They are not a very reliable source of information for Madrid news as they are a Valencia-based news outlet and it's hard to imagine they have inside information on the Chelsea owner or Hazard.

So far, the reports linking Hazard with a Chelsea move have come from average or poor sources.

ESPN did report that the Blues are interested in their ex-player but even their reliability has been very off over the past couple of seasons.

What are the more reliable sources saying?
Marca are a reliable source of information for Real Madrid news and they reported recently that the winger wants to stay with the Los Blancos until the end of this season at least.

Back in October, Fabrizio Romano made it clear that there has been no contact between the two clubs over a transfer.

Therefore, as things stand, the more reliable sources have said that a return is not on the cards as things stand.

Hazard's situation at Real Madrid
Hazard has 12 appearances in La Liga and Champions League this season. In the league, he has played only 349 minutes with most of his appearances coming off the bench.

The winger was absent for just four games due to injury this season so it's clear that Carlo Ancelotti just doesn't prefer to play him even when he's fit.

The manager said when asked of a potential move away: "It's clear that you have to take into account what each player is thinking. In general, never have I in my professional career forced a player to stay when he wanted to leave.

"If a player wants to leave, he has to leave. In my personal opinion, there is no doubt about that."

What Chelsea fans say
Chelsea fans are more than happy to take Hazard if the chance presents itself!

scarvomike (Twitter): "Eden Hazard is a legend. If he wants back then Chelsea should definitely get him back. I don't care if he will be in the hospital all year. Van Ginkel, Musonda have been in the hospital for years at Chelsea too.... Wat did they do for the club???"

JamesCandour: "What is it to discuss? Bring Hazard in 100% get rid of Barkley Barkley would cost about 20m Let the medical team work on hazard for a month play him in cup games and gradually bring the King back into the squad EDEN is a baller and that shit experience at Madrid doesn’t matter!"

RealBenCFC: "Having him fit for 3 games a season would be more beneficial then 90% of our squad anyway so do it."

ysmith137: "Eden Hazard broken leg, one leg, no legs........just bring him back"

Kolhami Olaye: "YES YES YES. No discussion...Azza must come here and finish his chapter. We don't care what happened at Madrid. Roman open your account and give the fans this!!"
