Abde declines Morocco Call opts for Spanish national team

Abde Ezzalzouli has decided to reject the call-up from Morocco for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Gerard Romero, Onda Cero and Mundo Deportivo all report.

The 20-year-old now holds double citizenship, together with Spanish, and has decided to pick La Roja. He will wait for a call-up from the U21 or the senior national team. This also means that he will stay at Barcelona in January.

Abde was born in Morocco and moved to Spain at the age of seven together with his family.

Ezzalzouli played for Morocco U20 in the past. However, he is still eligible for Spain as long as he doesn't play for the senior side.

The 20-year-old has played eight games for Barcelona this term so far, scoring a goal.
