Former England and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been appointed as Aston Villa new manger, after a successful three years spell in Scottish league with Rangers.
Gerrard joins Villa after leading Rangers to lift the Scottish premiership for the first time in 10 years.
The mersyside Red Legend is replacing Dean Smith whom was dismissed after a poor run of form in which they lost five successive matches.
Aston Villa are currently 16th in the League table, And also two points away From the drop zone.
Gerrard spoke after his appointment stating that Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and tradition in English football and He's very proud to become its new head coach.
He continued by adding "In my conversations with [co-owners] Nassef [Sawiris], Wes [Edens] and the rest of the board, it was apparent how ambitious their plans are for the club and I am looking forward to helping them achieve their aims."
Gerrard's first test will be a home game against Brighton Hove Albion after the International duty.
