Morton reacts to starting for Liverpool and playing No. 6 role

"I didn’t find out very soon!", Morton told Liverpool's official website following his full debut in the 2-0 win over Porto.

"I found out yesterday [Tuesday] fully that I was playing, but I’m ready whenever. Whether I’m on the bench or I’m playing, I’m ready whenever.

"I just thought I’m not unbelievably experienced at No.6 but I am experienced at other levels, just not the first team.

"It always takes time to adapt to playing styles, I thought I adapted today well to the game and I thought as it went on I got better.

"In the end I was happy with my performance."

Morton became the second youngest player to start a Champions League game for Liverpool on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old was impressive, looking unfazed by the occasion and his versatility in midfield ensures he's like to start a few more games this season.
