Man United board in talks with ex-Barca manager Ernesto Valverde
Manchester United's board has been in 'direct contact' with former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Spaniard is reportedly 'one of the 5 candidates in the list' in case the Red Devils fail to convince Mauricio Pochettino to leave Paris Saint-Germain mid-season.
However, the 57-year-old specialist would only be considered as an 'interim option' until the end of the 2021/22 campaign should Man United fail to appoint a permanent manager.
Valverde has been a free agent since January 2020 when he was sacked by Barca despite the fact that the Catalan giants had been first in the La Liga table at the time of the controversial decision.
