'I don’t rule it out': Joan Laporta on potential Barca return for Iniesta and Messi
During the official unveiling of Dani Alves as a Barcelona player, president Joan Laporta was asked whether Leo Messi or Andres Iniesta could follow the Brazilian back to their former club.
"I don’t rule it out," Laporta answered.
"It’s something that happened with Dani. Age is a number. He made a huge economic effort knowing the position we’re in. We’re convinced we’re going to turn it around.
"I can’t predict the future, they are still playing and have contracts, (but) they made this place great."
Messi only left Barcelona this summer, joining PSG on a two-year deal. The 34-year-old's eventual return after that does not seem outlandish.
Iniesta, meanwhile, is already 37 years old and is contracted to Japanese club Vissel Kobe until 2024 - and it's not at all guaranteed that he'll keep playing after that, let alone go back to Camp Nou.
